1. Stay a Little Longer with Yennefer (0:19)

The prologue opens in a Kaer Morhen dream. Yennefer reminds Geralt that Ciri's lesson is waiting, calling the delay "uninstructive" and "unreasonable." You get three replies:

  • "Wanna stay with you a little longer."
  • "Let's be unreasonable."
  • "You're right. I should go see Ciri."

The scene is full of banter either way, including her wardrobe, her lilac and gooseberries scent, and whether she prefers silver or gold. Watch the video to hear how she responds to each reply.

2. Vesemir and the Missing Ciri (3:18)

Ciri has slipped away from her lessons, and Vesemir wants her brought to the lower courtyard. When you talk to him, you choose a side:

  • "Don't get mad at her." Vesemir pushes back and lists everything she refuses to do.
  • "We've spoiled her." Vesemir agrees he has said so from the start, then admits the witchers all let her walk over them.

3. Ciri's Apology (5:23)

After the training run, Ciri says she is sorry and promises it will not happen again. Geralt's replies:

  • "Apology's not enough." Her punishment is reading Ghouls and Alghouls cover to cover, appendices included. She says she would rather clean the stables.
  • "Better not." Geralt reminds her that Vesemir has threatened to make her eat a bowl of slugs covered in salt if it happens again.

4. "But You Were Asleep, Uncle Vesemir" (7:14)

Ciri tries to talk her way out of trouble by pointing out that Vesemir was asleep during the lesson. You can shut it down or help her argue her case:

  • "Won't weasel out of this."
  • "Could've said you did the exercise while Vesemir was asleep."

The second one is the more playful pick. Vesemir's reaction to each is in the video at 7:14.

5. Fundamentals or Free Training? The Combat Tutorial (8:17)

This is the one choice with a practical effect, because it decides whether you play through the combat tutorial:

  • "Let's start with the fundamentals." [BEGIN COMBAT TUTORIAL] A good refresher if you are new to the game or the controls.
  • "Let's go straight to free training." [SKIP TUTORIAL] Best for returning players who already know the combat.

6. The Bonfire: Talk About the Dream? (11:02)

Geralt wakes from a nightmare and Vesemir asks if he is all right. Dawn is a way off, so there is time to talk:

  • "I dreamt of Kaer Morhen..." Geralt describes the dream: Yennefer in the bath at Kaer Morhen, a place she has never been, then Ciri, and finally the Wild Hunt attacking while he could not move. Vesemir says it was just a dream, and Geralt answers that it was more than that.
  • "Really rather not talk about it." Vesemir lets it go and the two get ready to move on.

7. The Unicorn Postscript (14:17)

Yennefer's letter smells of lilac and gooseberries, and its postscript reads "I still have the unicorn." Vesemir asks what it means:

  • "That's private." Vesemir decides he understands, "at least" he thinks so, and that perhaps it is better not to know more.
  • "Stuffed unicorn - we used it as a bed once." Geralt explains, and Vesemir remarks on the things young folk get up to these days.

8. Bram's Reward After the Griffin (17:43 and 20:40)

After you save Bram from the griffin, he asks whether you would like a reward. This choice changes how the rest of the trip to White Orchard plays out:

  • "We could use a few crowns." Bram apologizes that his purse is almost empty because Nilfgaardian guards requisitioned his goods, then points you toward the trail. At the inn, the innkeeper greets you with the standard drink offer (20:04 or 22:11, depending on the run).
  • "You don't owe us a thing." Bram is surprised that witchers turn down pay, and mentions that the White Orchard innkeeper is his cousin. If you tell her Bram sent you, she answers with food and drink on the house.

Both runs are in the video, so you can compare the two innkeeper reactions side by side.

9. The Innkeeper's Menu (20:04)

In White Orchard, you can see how the village reacts to Nilfgaardian rule, including soldiers ordering an old man to take down Temeria's lilies. Inside the inn, the innkeeper asks if you want something to wet your tongue. You get four options:

  • "Looking for a woman..." Describe Yennefer: raven hair, violet eyes, black and white clothes, and the lilac and gooseberries scent. The innkeeper has not seen her, but says plenty of travelers pass through.
  • "Show me what you got." Opens her shop.
  • "Pretty busy place." She talks about refugees and soldiers on the move. Follow-up questions let you ask how she feels about Nilfgaardian rule.
  • "There a contract on the griffin?" No. Since Nilfgaard took over, the Order no longer posts contracts without permission, so there is no coin in it.

Which Choices Did You Skip?
