Be a Collector First!

Collector is one of the roles in Red Dead Online acquired after paying Madam Nazar 15 gold bars, other roles are Trader, Bounty Hunter and Moonshiner. If you have the regular edition and don't have enough gold bars, earned gold by doing daily or weekly challenges. But investing it for a role is much easier and being a Collector is very much worth it in the long run than spending it for cosmetics. As the Collector you will earned XP, money and gold, all of it, don't hesitate since you will find all collector things along the way.

What do you need to be a Collector?

  • 15 gold bars for the Collector's bag and role (Free to GTA ONLINE collector of all cards)
  • Shovel for digging buried collectibles and treasures - price RDO $350.00
  • Metal detector for finding metallics - price RDO $700.00
  • Know about the spawn cycles and time of reset

What is Spawn Cycle?

Collectibles does not appear in the same spot everyday, instead they are randomly assigned  into spawning cycles, after the Moonshiner update there are now six cycles.

Basically there are 6 different locations for a collectible item called cycle thrown in random in the span of 7 days that resets at 7PM EST or 12 AM GMT daily.

Nerfs on Collector?

UPDATE: After Naturalist update, more changes happened for Collector role, read about it in this post:

After the release of Moonshiner role, Rockstar made sure that the Collector is more challenging and less predictable, instead of previous three fixed cycles, there are now six cycles that are thrown in random nerfing the scheduled fixed day locations. This means there are now six different locations for a single collectible in the span of one week and they are thrown in random everyday.

What happens when the location cycle sets in two consecutive days? It means you CANNOT get that particular item and you have to wait for the next reset. Sample scenario, on Wednesday Coins is set for cycle 3, the next day Thursday, the coins is again set in cycle 3, it means you cannot get the same coin on Thursdays if you already collected it on Wednesday. Coins should fall on different cycle by the next day Friday, then the cycle resumes. Cycle locations set on two consecutive days rarely happens and never happened on three consecutive days as far as we know.

When is the Reset?

Collectibles resets at 12 AM GMT or UTC +00 so check your timezone by simply searching Google  with
"12 AM GMT to [name of your city/country] time"

For example when I search "12 AM GMT to Los Angeles" Google replies with:

12:00 am Friday, Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is
4:00 pm Thursday, in Los Angeles, CA, USA

This means players living in Long Beach South California will no longer find the Wednesday collectibles when the clock ticks at 4:01 pm because the Thursday cycle has began.

Where is it? Know the Spawn Cycles and Resets

Since collectibles resets at 12 AM GMT or UTC +00, the days in the guides refers to the start of the server's time which starts and ends at 12 AM GMT (UTC +00) not your timezone. Or simply check the countdown in player menu, where you look for your daily challenges to know the remaining time in-game.

Combining your knowledge of the time of reset and the spawning cycle, you are now all set for the locations, how about farming the entire collection?

What are Night-Only Collectibles?

Yes there are collectibles that are time sensitive, besides the spawn cycle some wild flowers spawns at night only, around 10pm to 5am base on the game's day and night time cycle. You can find the likes of Agarita and Bloodflower this way. Waiting in the spot until night time sometimes prevents them from spawning, if that is the case, just relog and they will be there.
