Assassins Creed takes another leap of faith and lands a Netflix series

After a successful Assassins Creed movie earning 240 million in the box office despite mixed reviews from critics, Ubisoft has jump on the moving media and cuts a deal with Adi Shankar, producer of another upcoming videogame adaptation Castlevania. Just hours before the classic Dracula themed game Castlevania debuts on Netflix, Adi Shankar posted on his Facebook account his chosen project, an Assassins Creed anime adaptation.

Shankar, big fan of the game has this to say "I’m happy to let you guys know that I’ve selected my next project! I played the first edition of Assassin’s Creed the year I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream. At that moment I knew absolutely no one in the industry and could never have imagined that one day Ubisoft would ask me to take the world of Assassin’s Creed and create an original story set in it as an anime series. If anyone tells you not to follow your passion in life they are wrong."

Netflix nabbing another triple A game adaptation under their brand is nothing new, if we can recall The Witcher was also being adapted under Netflix and looking at the trailer of Castlevania, it is looking good. It would be nice to have a rated Mature AC adaptation but we shall see. Are you excited to see what Assassins Creed looks like in animation? How about the next Assassins Creed movie sequel?
