Just hours ago this episode of the "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" was the #1 trending video on YouTube for a reason. If you are familiar with net neutrality, you will know its importance, at least if you are an internet user living in the United states where Federal Communications Commission has jurisdiction. John Oliver is discussing why Net Neutrality is in peril yet again, it was supposed to be resolved during Obama's time but the Trump administration is potentially making it worse.
According to Wikipedia, Net neutrality is "the principle that Internet service providers and governments regulating the Internet should treat all data on the Internet the same, not discriminating or charging differentially by user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or mode of communication." Simply put, for internet users it is the freedom to use any service the user prefers via the internet by making it available to them by the ISP. Accessing these services sometimes are compromised by our internet provider by slowing it down or restricting it for us, this in the process is coercing you to use their sponsored/owned rival service.
