Solutions to Linking Issues of Ubisoft Account and Epic Account
The library of free games in the Epic games store is growing rapidly surpassing the advantages of discounted games on Steam as the platform gets better. Ubisoft is among the publishers who partnered with Epic getting their triple A games in the hands of Gamers for free. Linking both accounts though have a lot of issues and here are the steps in pairing your accounts and tips how to solve the problems or errors.
How to Activate a game in Ubisoft Account from Epic Account
As an example let's look at Assassin's Creed Syndicate that became FREE to claim in Epic Games from Feb 21 to Feb 28 2020, if you want the game, claim the game from Epic and follow these steps to activate it in your Ubisoft/Uplay account.

1. Create account in UPLAY - LINK: https://uplay.ubisoft.com/
2. Create account in EPIC - link above
3. Claim the game by buying it for $0.0 from link
4. Download the game from Epic
5. Launching the game will Link and Verify your Epic and Ubisoft account.
TIP: If this is the first time you are linking the two accounts, you will need to have extra steps letting you confirm the action through your verified email you are using on both accounts. Take the precaution of activating the two-step authentication for your game accounts to be secure. You will received an email notification from Epic when you have successfully linked both accounts.

6. After successfully linking the two accounts, your Ubisoft account now should be included among your games library on UPlay.

How to Solve Issues Linking your Ubisoft Account and Epic Account
1. Activation Errors Not Working
Bear in mind that when you buy a game in Epic store from game publishers like Ubisoft or Rockstar, they still need to be activated in their own game accounts and play independently without the Epic launcher. This means playing the game via Ubisoft launcher does not require Epic launcher to run, but playing via Epic needs UPlay launcher.How do you know if you activated the game?
The game you bought/claimed should now be listed in your Ubisoft game library. Where is the game library in Ubisoft launcher? Go to Ubisoft launcher, from the top most menu it is between the News and Store tabs.Where is the game from Epic? Why it's not listed in the game library?
The game you bought or claimed is not listed in your Ubisoft/Rockstar game library because you have not activated your game in Ubisoft/Uplay through Epic or the linking of the two accounts failed. See number 2 issue below.2. Account Conflicts
As advised in Ubisoft Support page, to avoid conflict in linking Epic and UPlay accounts, make sure your COUNTRY in both accounts are THE SAME and they are the account you are meant to link and you are not currently logged in as a different user in your default browser. Account conflict error occurs too when you were logged in from a different account during the verification/linking process. Make sure to logged out from your Ubisoft account on your default browser and verify the Ubisoft account was not previously linked with a different/another account.
3. Multiple Account and Activation Code Error
Important TIP: Do not run Ubisoft launcher before you verify or link the game with Ubisoft launcher or else this will pop up or link a wrong account. If you have multiple accounts, to avoid conflict logout from your browser, clean the cookies and browser cache if you need to. Logout and close Ubisoft launcher and run only Epic launcher during the verification process. When linking process begins, Epic launcher will prompt to open and login your Ubisoft account, that is the time you login to your account not before.

Multiple accounts linking does not work, at the moment one Epic account can only be linked with one Ubisoft account.
4. PC can't run the game
Make sure that you read the minimum requirements of the game, they can be viewed at the bottom of the game's details in the store page.

5. Where is the default installation folder of Epic Launcher?
Simply go to your library, select any game you have not installed yet and it will prompt to your default installation folder as shown here.
5. How to reset the cache of Epic Launcher?
- Go to your Epic launcher and click the gear icon ⚙ at the bottom left corner
- Scroll down and find the "Edit Vault Cache Location" click reset and done
- DO NOT RESET if you are not sure what you are doing.
6. Duplicate Installations and Re-Download Issues
If you were able to activate the game in Ubisoft launcher, after the initial download from Epic is done, the game should be listed in among your playable games.You can now launch and play the game in Ubisoft launcher or Epic. If Ubisoft launcher prompts that you need to re-download the game again, it means there was a problem during the verification and linking of accounts. Go check the issues above.
Do not re-download the game again, instead log out and close both launchers. Open and login in your Ubisoft account and your game should be listed there and launch the game.
