Tom Hardy is Venom come 2018

Sony Pictures confirmed a few hours ago that the production of the Venom spinoff will start this fall starring Tom Hardy as the host, Eddie Brock. This is no surprise, the Venom spinoff has been in the rumor mill during Spiderman days of Andrew Garfield including Sinister Six featured in the credits. Some details of the Sony hack last 2015 supported this too.

hulking poison or anti-venom?

The studio released the news as Tom Holland draws near wearing the new spidey suit in Spiderman: Homecoming this June.  Sony Pictures owns the rights to Marvel's Spiderman franchise including all its characters and villains like Black Cat, Lizard, Hobgoblin, Sinister Six and Venom's another incarnation Carnage. Spiderman's appearance in Marvel's Captain America: Civil War has revitalized Sony's branding of Spiderman and is now kicking off their superhero venture. Nabbing former DC villain actor Tom Hardy was the surprise, we know Hardy as Batman's nemesis Bane on Christopher Nolan's Batman. 

"You may call me Venom, for that's what I'm paid to spew out these days!"

We cannot compare the value of having Tom Hardy playing Eddie Brock, the last time we saw this character was a comic-book disappointment from Toby Maguire Spiderman 3, played by a skinny actor Topher Grace. In the comic book, Eddie Brock is a hulking villain to Spiderman, but sometimes he is also a hero to some. Sometime when Brock left the symbiote of Venom, he became Anti-Venom and then bonded with another symbiote Toxin. This might probably be the case for the movie being developed, given Tom Hardy's profile as the perfect anti-hero.
